BKU block president Nirmal Singh said the farmers would continue fighting till all their colleagues are released from jails.

On March 6, in order to prevent farmers from blocking rail tracks, a number of farmer leaders were detained and sent in judicial custody.

Farmer leaders alleged that arrests of farmers were still going on across the state. "Over 150 farmers were arrested on Wednesday when they were staging dharna on Sangrur-Patiala highway. This is injustice with us," he said.

Other BKU (Dakaunda) leaders Darshan Singh Shekhupura, Mukhtiar Dullar, Balbir Singh Mavi Sappa, Gurcharan Singh Mavi, Surjit Singh Lachkani, Harbans Singh Kasiana also condemned the act of the government. They said the government wouldn't succeed in gagging the peasants, who were fighting for their rights.
