The school teachers said they have repeatedly asked the residents to file a complaint to municipal corporation authorities, but neither the residents nor the authorities are making any effort to solve this problem.

The school teachers said they have repeatedly asked the residents to file a complaint to municipal corporation authorities, but neither the residents nor the authorities are making any effort to solve this problem.

A total of 122 students of Classes 1 to 5 sit in a verandah and one small room in the school has been running in a police station building for the last two years as the school building with five classrooms has been declared unsafe by the public works department in February 2014.

There are 20 students in Class 1, 15 in Class 2, 21 in Class 3, 17 in Class 4, and 22 in Class 5. In the special training resource centre there are 27 students and the school has two regular teachers, one head teacher and three volunteers.

A visit to the school revealed that teachers conduct all the five classes in one verandah and being an open space the situation gets more deplorable during rain.A teacher requesting anonymity, said, “There is one verandah, three rooms which are small, so we are not able to accommodate the students there, teacher said adding, “only Class 5 students are adjusted in one room as it is a board class. But it is difficult to teach the students as all the classes are different and four teachers are simultaneously teaching all the students from Classes 1 to 4. One can imagine what the students are able to understand of their respective lessons in this chaos.”
