The optional proficiency test of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which will start on April 20 for the students of Class 10, has not been able to attract much students.
Talking to Hindustan Times, BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School principal Paramjit Kaur said, "We have requested the board to conduct the test before the final examination for Class 10 as last year very few students had opted for it. Once again few students will apply for it due to wrong timings."
Shamrock Christian Senior Secondary School principal Pradeep Singh said, "We have informed the students of Class 10 but only few have shown interest in it. Had the CBSE conducted the test in January or February, more students would have applied for it."
A student, requesting anonymity, said, "All private schools will start the classes for eleventh standard from April 1 so what is the use of appearing in such a test in April. Appearing in such a test in February would have helped me for sure."
The CBSE would conduct the English test on April 20, Mathematics on April 21, Science on April 22, Social Studies on April 23 and Hindi on April 24.
