Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has marked an inquiry to Chandigarh crime branch in the case of death of Mishu Kiran Kalia, 27. He was found dead on October 22.
The family, who came to know about the development through the police commissioner on Monday, is now pinning hope on the investigation. The case was earlier with the Ludhiana police and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by the police commissioner in this context. The family was however not happy with the findings of the local SIT.
Victim’s mother Meena Kalia said she had met the deputy chief minister on December 6 during his visit to Ludhiana and had filed a written complaint with him. She further added that Sukhbir assured action on the complaint.
“I have met the police commissioner to know the status of my complaint when he informed me that the case has been marked to Chandigarh crime branch,” she said.
Meena further added that two of Mishu’s were with him on the fateful day. “We have come to know that Mishu, along with his friends, had consumed liquor two hours before the incident.”

{{/usCountry}}She alleged that Mishu’s friends had murdered him and had thrown the body near Pavilion Mall to give it the shape of a road mishap. The police were trying to prove it a road mishap, but there were several missing links in their theory that were yet to be answered.
