Chairman of the union Jagdev Singh said: “More than 50 employees were not given their salaries, thus leaving them to face a hard time. When they work for the health department, why the government is not paying them?”

However, he said that they would be participating in the national anti-polio drive starting on Sunday, but would boycott all upcoming programmes if the government failed to pay their salaries.

Earlier on February 13, the employees had strike their work for a day to press their demand, however the protest was withdrawn following the assurance of the authorities concerned that they would be paid by February20.

However, despite the assurance when their salaries were not paid, they went on strike again on Thursday.
