“Massive advertisements in all major newspapers have appeared on Wednesday with a huge photograph of Harsimrat Kaur, giving details of her inauguration of a Biomass Power Project (10MW) at Village Khokhar Khurd, District Mansa by a private company Viaton Energy Pvt. Ltd.

Surprisingly, the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has issued and paid for the advertisement whereas the Biomass project is of a private company,” Khaira said.

“Besides all the pomp and show, the entire district administration including the DC and SSP are directed to remain in her programmes, while even a BDO or Panchayat secretary does not bother to attend such programmes of the other ruling party MP’s, what to talk of Congress MP’s. Congress is of the firm opinion that this preferential treatment is only being given to Harsimrat merely because she is the daughter-in-law of the CM,” he added.

What is more shameful is the blatant hijack of all UPA-sponsored flagship programmes such as SSA, PMGSY, JNRRUM, Rural Health Mission, Water augmentation, World Bank schemes etc., that are often inaugurated by Harsimrat Kaur, while there is no mention of the Prime Minister or concerned UPA minister.

Therefore, keeping in view gross partisan, politically motivated and utter neglect of the rights of all other MP’s, it is demanded all elected representatives whether MLA’s or MP’s of all parties be treated at par and with respect, that the largesse of public exchequer being showered on her, be stopped without further delay, he demanded.
