Congress criticises Kataria's remarks

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Hoshiyari Lal Sharma on Saturday condemned the statement of BJP's parliamentarian from Ambala, Ratan Lal Kataria in which the latter reportedly stated that an unmarried or bachelor leader can ensure more development of society.

Taking a dig at Kataria, Sharma said the BJP MP has given a controversial statement that amounts to negating efforts married people had made for the nation.

Sharma said Kataria is married and his statement does not suit him and raises a question mark on his leadership. He said there are several married leaders who have devoted their life to the development of the nation.

He said Katatia has also underestimated women in politics who are married. This statement of the BJP leader has sent a wrong message to society, Sharma said, adding that he must apologise for this.
