'Cops were playing into the hands of politicians'

Former cabinet minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lakshmi Kanta Chawla on Sunday accused the police of playing into the hands of politicians in the Shruti Sachdeva abduction case.

Former cabinet minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lakshmi Kanta Chawla on Sunday accused the police of playing into the hands of politicians in the Shruti Sachdeva abduction case.

"Had police acted in time and not played into the hands of politicians, Shruti's case would have been solved much before," Chawla said here. "Finally the police had to bow to public pressure to solve Shruti's case", she added

She also suggested the Amritsar police to become more pro-active and prompt to crack the murder cases of a cloth merchant and a money exchanger.
