Reiterating its stand on pro-people policies, state committee of CPM released the state specific manifesto at state party headquarters on Tuesday.
Releasing the manifesto, party state secretary Inderjit Singh emphasised that a shift in the policies was a must even for modest relief to the suffering downtrodden masses. He said that most of the parties have hardly any concern for the hardships and problems of the people.
The party has promised to intensify the struggles for adoption of Sawaminathan Commission recommendations for improving farmers' lot, end to blind acquisition of agriculture lands, development of the dairy sector, curbing corruption and making governance more accountable.
It has also advocated strict implementation of labour laws, ensuring security to women, weaker sections and Dalits, 33% reservation to women in legislature, Rs 4,000 as minimum pension for old age, widows and physically disabled etc.
The party has demanded a comprehensive Inquiry commission to go into shady land deals and recruitment scams, to identify the corrupt and punish them.
The party has expressed safety concerns over the setting up of nuclear power plant at Gorakhpur.
