It was a joint venture of Ludhiana Cyclists Association, a group that is promoting a clean and green environment through cycling, and Feroze Gandhi Market Association (FGMA). Large number of school and college students joined the rally. The main objective was to educate the youth about dire impact of drugs and other ills with which our society was infested.

The cyclists as well as members of FGMA paid a tribute to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and the rally started from the statue installed in Feroze Gandhi Market.

Jagmohan Singh, nephew of Martyr Bhagat Singh, was the chief guest at the occasion who urged the students and the gathering to tread on the path shown by our martyrs.

The chief guest along with guest of honour Gurbhajan Singh Gill, a writer, flagged off the rally. The cyclists were led by Ranjodh Singh, Davinder Singh Nagi, president of Ludhiana cyclist and passed through Shaheed KSS Nagar, Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and finally reached the native village of the martyr Sarabha.

At the village, the participants along with the villagers garlanded the statue of martyr Sarabha. A poster, painted by Sobha Singh, was distributed by Gurbhajan Singh Gill among students and villagers.

They also encouraged the youth to choose cycling for good health and clean and green environment.
