The police said the victim Amarjeet Ambi, her husband, son and a daughter lied down near the tracks before the arrival of the train. However the moment train got closer, her 20 years old daughter Neha suddenly got up and asked everyone to move away. Amarjeet was run over by the train as rest of her family managed to survive.

Locals claim that the family was under debt and moneylenders had asked them to mortgage their house which drove them to commit suicide.

An FIR under Section 174 (inquest proceedings) of the CrPC was lodged by the railway police.
