Many students were even seen running on an uneven track during the games. But the lack of arrangements didn’t deter them to play. The students did not show any discomfort. The games that started on November 2 received participation from four zones including Jalandhar I, Jalandhar II, Phillaur and Nakodar. The games held at the event included football, kho kho (girls and boys), athletics, kabaddi, wresting (20 kg and 30 kg). The teachers accompanying the students condemned that no central point was chosen, instead games were being conducted at the extreme of Phillaur.

“It is not easy to take children to such a faraway place,” said a teacher requesting anonymity. It is difficult to perform after travelling long distance, said the teacher. Drinking water facility and refreshments were also arranged by the village people in a nearby Gurudwara, sources informed. One of the teachers also complained of non availability of first aid at the venue. “There could have been small pieces of glass or anything else that could have hurt the students,” said the teacher.
