Congress leaders, including former ministers Rakesh Pandey, Milkiat Singh Birmi, Milkiat Singh Dakha, district president Pawan Dewan, Gurmail Pahalan and Pappi Prashar asked the deputy CM to show some grace and acknowledge his gratitude to the central government for all schemes he was going to launch and inaugurate on Friday.

The Congress leaders pointed out that the flats he was going to inaugurate on Friday were constructed with funds provided under the Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission and so were the buses he was going to add to the city bus service. Besides, the four-laning of the Ferozepur Road was also being done with the help of central funds, they added.

The party leaders said, while they had no objection to Sukhbir inaugurating these projects, as he was the deputy chief minister, but at least he should show some grace and acknowledge the source of funding and finances of these projects.
