He has been evading his arrest since the registration of a case against him on March 4.

Amrik’s son Gurwinder Singh was arrested soon after the deceased, Upinder Kaur, succumbed to her injuries at the PGI, Chandigarh, three week after her in-laws allegedly set her ablaze for not fulfilling their dowry need on March 4. The deceased has been married to Amrik’s son Gurwinder Singh, about 14 months ago and had a three-month-old child. The arrested sarpanch will be presented before the court on Wednesday in order to procure his remand.
