Four people, including two non-resident Indians (NRIs), were arrested, said inspector general of police (Jalandhar zone) Gurpreet Deo here.

Deo said the NRIs belonged to the US and New Zealand and were members of a gang which would manufacture the synthetic drug with the help of a foreigner at a farmhouse near Samrala town, 80 km from Chandigarh.

The drug consignment was seized by the police following a raid in Garhshankar area of Hoshiarpur district late Friday evening.

Police officials said the drug was used by youths and addicts at high-society rave parties in metro cities of the country and abroad.

Deo said the police were looking for three more members of the gang, including the kingpin, Ranjit Singh Hepowal of Banga town.

The police are investigating links of the gang with drug mafias.
