The vigilance bureau produced the DSP in the court of Gurdaspur chief judicial magistrate Baljinder Singh and secured his police remand till April 28.

Varinderpreet had asked for a bribe of Rs 50,000 from Manpreet Kaur of Batala to settle her matrimonial dispute, and the deal was finally struck for Rs 40,000.

When Manpreet went to the DSP's residence to hand over the amount on Wednesday evening, a vigilance team raided the house and arrested him with the amount.
