Eight injured as bus falls into Punjab’s Bist-Doab canal

Eight passengers sustained injuries on Friday when a private bus belonging to the Doaba Transport Company fell into the Bist-Doab canal in Kaleran Wahid village of Adampur town of the district.

Eight passengers sustained injuries on Friday when a private bus belonging to the Doaba Transport Company fell into the Bist-Doab canal in Kaleran Wahid village of Adampur town of the district.

The injured were shifted to nearby private hospital by police and villagers.

Station house officer (SHO) of the Adampur police station inspector Parminder Singh said that the bus driver claimed to have lost control on the bus after a car, which was coming from opposite side, signalled using the car’s headlights.

The SHO said the injured were out of danger, adding that the bus driver’s statement seemed suspicious.

The bus was moving towards from Jalandhar to Garhshankar.
