Estimate committee inspects various locations of city

The estimate committee of Vidhan Sabha that was on a two-day visit to the city on Friday inspected various locations of the city lying under municipal corporation Ludhiana.

The estimate committee of Vidhan Sabha that was on a two-day visit to the city on Friday inspected various locations of the city lying under municipal corporation Ludhiana.


The team comprising member legislative assembly (MLA) cutting across the party line held discussions with the MC officials including commissioner RK Verma among others.

Committee under the chairmanship of MLA Prem Mittal visited Ganda Nullah, sewerage disposal plant at mini rose garden, Buddha Nullah, Bhattiyan sewage treatment plant, under construction Lakkar bridge, Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) complex on Rani Jhansi Road and also indoor stadium at Pakhowal Road.

The committee was satisfied with the work progress at different projects under the MC. The committee directed the officials to complete the pending work.

MC officials stated that indoor stadium at Pakhowal Road would be completed by September next year whereas one side of the Lakkar bridge would be operational from July 31.

Prem Mittal, who headed the committee said, different projects of the MC were satisfactory and that MC had been directed to do away with any sort of shortcomings.

Mittal said, “For the LIT complex on Rani Jhansi Road, authorities have been asked to write a letter to the state government so that the allotment of shops could take place.”

Mittal has also directed the MC to provide the files along with the map and design of the malls on Ferozepur Road, so that verification could be done. He said the commissioner would provide the files within 30 days.

MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Balwinder Bains along with other members visited different areas.
