Rajender Yadav, after retirement from army, joined the police force and was undergoing training at the police headquarters at Madhuban in Karnal district of Haryana.

Rajender allegedly killed his wife Lalita Devi (38) at his residence here on Wednesday, police said. A case of murder was registered against Rajender following a complaint lodged by Ranbir Singh Yadav, Lalita's father, on Thursday.

Lalita's father, in his complaint, alleged that Rajender had murdered his daughter as he had an affair with another woman.

However, Rajender too allegedly committed suicide by slitting veins of both of his hands on Thursday, police said.

Lalita and Rajender got married over 14 years ago and they have a 13-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son.
