Ex-Army man falls into pothole, dies

A 70-year-old former Army man died after he fell into a pothole excavated to repair water pipes on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Kartar Singh, a resident of ward number 7. Kartar was going to Patiala on his motorcycle when he fell in a deep pothole in the middle of the road near Akalgarh Gurduwara Sahib.

A 70-year-old former Army man died after he fell into a pothole excavated to repair water pipes on Sunday morning.The deceased was identified as Kartar Singh, a resident of ward number 7. Kartar was going to Patiala on his motorcycle when he fell in a deep pothole in the middle of the road near Akalgarh Gurduwara Sahib.

Locals brought him from the pothole and rushed him to the Patiala hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
The incident triggered anguish among his family members and residents who slammed the Sanour Municipal Council officials for their lackluster attitude towards pending developmental works.

Police officials took notice of the incident and started an investigation. The family members have also appealed to deputy commissioner Varun Roojan to take strict action against erring officials.
