With an aim to sensitise people to prevent the wastage of recyclable goods and curb littering, students, staff and management of Spring Dale Senior School organised an art and craft exhibition INNOVATUS 2014 here on Saturday.
At the exhibition, the artifacts prepared by students of Classes 3 to 5 were showcased with a message to the visitors to adhere to the mantra of 'reduce, reuse and recycle'.
The exhibition showcased artifacts prepared by students employing 10 different skills - art, sculpture, pottery, recycled craft, needle work, calligraphy, origami, cooking and cartooning.
Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma said the aim of the exhibition was to urge people to be judicious in their use of natural resources. "The art objects on display were prepared with the help of recycled material," he said.
He maintained that the students should be exposed to various nuances of art right from the early stage. "They should be taught to use recycled material to inculcate aesthetic sense in them and curb wastage," he said.
Talking about the artistic skills of the students, who are being trained by the school, he said these abilities bring them closer to various aspects of human life. "The school is committed to the cause of providing the best of education to its students to help them emerge as responsible global citizens," Sharma said.
