Cracking the whip on those who have not deposited their water and sewerage dues, municipal corporation on Friday disconnected five water and sewerage connections on National Road near Ghumar Mandi.
Officials of the MC reached the spot in the morning and told owners of the properties that their connections would be disconnected as they had failed to deposit their dues.
Additional commissioner Isha Kalia had formed a team a month ago to collect water or sewerage dues from residents. Notices were also served on offenders. However, now, those who failed in clearing the dues, are being dealt with an iron hand, and their connections are being disconnected.
Junior technicians Karamjit Singh and Jaswant Singh reached the National Road and disconnected the water and sewerage connections. Karamjit said, "We have order to cut the connections of those who have not deposited their dues. The drive would continue."
