The family of Manoj Kapoor, 27, who had gone missing in May last year here, is now pinning its hopes on the lie detector test of the suspects, as the police had undertaken to arrange a lie detector during the last hearing of the case in the high court. However, the police have not been able to arrange a lie detector so far.
A lie detector is not available with the district police and the police have sought guidelines from the Bureau of Investigation of the state in this regard, it has been learnt. The next date of hearing in the case is May 6.
After the state counsel gave an undertaking to arrange for a lie detector test in the high court on March 17, Neetu Kapoor, sister of the missing youth, has given names of seven suspects to the police for the test, who could be involved in the alleged kidnapping of her brother. They included the immediate boss of Manoj Kapoor, two other ATM cash loaders, one new and another former driver and two security men of the private company in which Manoj worked and used to load cash in ATMs.
"We have been running from pillar to post to know something about my brother. We have been sitting on a protest in Faridkot for the past eleven months. Our small business has ruined. I lost my job but we are still unable to know what has happened to Manoj," said Neetu.

{{/usCountry}}The family also met deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday who, they claimed, has assured them of justice.
Vishaleet Singh, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Faridkot subdivision, ruled out any delay and said that the police have written to the senior officials to seek guidelines in this regard. We have written to the bureau of investigation seeking guidelines in connection with the test. It is a lengthy process, but we are hopeful of conducting a test soon."
Manoj Kapoor, who worked as a cash loader in a private company, hired by banks to load cash in their ATMs, went missing under mysterious circumstances on May 25 last year.
After he disappeared, an amount of Rs 19 lakh was withdrawn from three ATMs of banks in Bargari, Jaitu and Sadiq towns of the district within three hours. The family had alleged that he was kidnapped as he had fallen out with some colleagues and money was looted by them, but the police suspected the role of the missing youth as well. The family also accused some senior leaders of BJP of shielding the suspects.
"If he is suspected to have looted the cash, truth should come out, at least he should be brought before us," Neetu said. A kidnapping case was registered in this regard on May 25 last year, but the police have failed to crack the case so far.
