Chief judicial magistrate Rajnish ordered the DNA test on Nishan Singh on a plea by Faridkot police.

Police had filed an application for the DNA test of the accused after the examination by a medical board recently found the girl pregnant.

The defence counsel pleaded that the statement of the girl should be recorded before the magistrate under section 164 of CrPC to establish the guilt of the accused, who is presently in judicial custody.

The girl's statement would be recorded in the court Friday.

Meanwhile, the parents of the girl filed two separate applications in the court seeking termination of their daughter's pregnancy and handing her to them.

The court slated the matter for next hearing on Friday.

The minor was allegedly kidnapped by Singh, who is involved in at least 18 criminal cases, from her house on September 24.

The medical examination, on October 23, confirmed that the girl was pregnant. The girl after her recovery had refused to go with her parents, following which the court sent her to Nari Niketan at Jalandhar.

Meanwhile, Singh had been remanded to judicial custody till November 17 after expiry of his police remand, police said.

All the 18 accused in the case, including Singh's mother, have been arrested, they said.
