Kaur said she signed the statement written by the police after it was read out to her.
Mandip said that she insisted for the names of SAD leader Harjit Singh Bhooluwalan, Balbir Singh and Jarnail Singh to be added in the complaint.

The police assured her that the suicide note (in which the name of accused is there) was attached with the complaint and necessary action will be taken against the culprits, stated Mandip
When asked whether any of her relatives were shown the statement before taking her signatures, Mandip replied in negative.
She added that police tricked her into signing the statement.
Sukhjeet, relative of the deceased, said that police officials had told them, that names of the SAD leaders will be included in ‘zimini’ (daily police report of the case).
“The case is being investigated and police will take further action after forensic experts verify authenticity of suicide note,” said SSP Maan.
Mann also denied telling family members about inclusion of names of the SAD leaders in zimni.
However, a noted criminal lawyer on the condition of anonymity stated that police was bound to lodge FIR against all the persons named in the suicide note as it was a dying statement.
He added that zimini is a record of police papers and police can nominate or exonerate anyone from it.
He added that generally it is used to trick the complainant and save somebody from clutches of law.
Accused Harjit Singh Bhooluwalan is chairman of District Planning Board, his wife Gurvinder Kaur is member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and his son Ramandeep Singh is president of truck union, Faridkot.
Balbir Singh and Jarnail Singh are local Akali leaders.
The incident took a political turnas AAP MP Bhagwant Maan and SAD leader Paramhans Romana visited deceased’s house. Congress leader Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon stated that if police fail to book the accused SAD leaders then Congress will launch a stir.
Meanwhile, bodies of Jagtar Singh and Parveen were recovered from the canal on Saturday.
Family members of the deceased family said that they will not perform last rites till police arrests SAD leaders responsible.
