To promote the spirit of Sikhism among the youth, a special programme marking the Parkash Purab (installation) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was organised at Mata Gujri College here on Tuesday.

Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib head granthi Harpal Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the importance of the holy book, adding, "Students should live a simple life with high thinking. They should devote their precious time to their elders, who are a good source of inspiration."
He urged the students to become good human beings, with the qualities of patience, discipline and punctuality.
College principal Jatinder Singh Sidhu said the college would organise such events regularly to promote religious values among students.
