A scuffle between Class 10 students of BCM Senior Secondary School took an ugly turn when one of the students and an outsider allegedly attacked another student and his uncle with iron rods and vandalised their car on Friday. The incident occurred on the road outside the school.
The attackers, both juveniles, fled the spot soon after and the injured were rushed to Satguru Partap Singh Hospital. The 16-year-old victim Rubalpreet Singh is a resident of Kidwai Nagar. In his complaint, he stated that he was a student of Class 10 at BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road. He had fought with his classmates over some issue that was resolved by teachers. However, the other party nursed a rivalry against him, he added.
Rubalpreet further stated that on Friday, his maternal uncle Lovepreet Singh was waiting in his car to pick him up after school and as he was about to sit in the car, the other party accompanied by outsiders attacked them with iron roads and vandalised their car and fled the spot.
Assistant sub-inspector Harbhajan Singh, who is investigating the case, said police reached the spot and rushed the victims to a hospital. He added that their condition is stable. Efforts were on to arrest the accused, he added.
