Fireworks banned near LPG bottling plant in Nabha

Deputy commissioner Varun Roojam has imposed a ban on bursting of firecrackers near the LPG bottling plant run by the Indian Oil Corporation in Nabha. The ban will remain in force till January 5, 2016.

Deputy commissioner Varun Roojam has imposed a ban on bursting of firecrackers near the LPG bottling plant run by the Indian Oil Corporation in Nabha. The ban will remain in force till January 5, 2016.

As per the orders, bursting of crackers is banned within 500 metre of the plant, which stores highly inflammable goods. The DC said violators will be dealt with strictly. He also asked Nabha residents to keep an extra vigil.

Meanwhile, the Patiala administration has identified several areas where sale of crackers can take place. These include Polo Ground along Lower Mall Road, water tank at Tripuri, Vir Hakikat Ground near the bus stand, Urban Estate ground, SST Nagar ground, Badungar road ground and Bahera road.

Official said that loose sale of crackers would not be allowed anywhere in the city except at places identified for the retail sale. The administration has also banned hoarding of crackers in residential areas.
