The accused used to send the booty to Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, through road transport.

The accused have been identified as Arvind Kumar, Sunil Singh, Mishri Lal, Akhilesh Kumar and Raj Bahadur. All accused hailed from Uttar Pradesh and lived in a rented accommodation on Tibba Road in Ludhiana.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, DCP Ashish Choudhary praised the CIA staff for the breakthrough.

The DCP said the police have arrested the accused from a vacant plot on the Kakkowal road on Wednesday night. One of the accused, Bablu, managed to flee the spot.

"Arvind Kumar and Sunil Kumar are the mastermind of the gang. They used to roam around and explore the industrial area in the day and executed the robberies in the night. They used to overpower the security guards of factories by using weapons," said the DCP.
