Five people were injured in Maqboolpura area on Tuesday, when a cooking gas cylinder exploded following leakage of gas. The injured, a woman and four children, have been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Vallah.
The injured have been identified as Jyoti (25), her two toddler sons Ranbir and Aman, besides four-year-old Shiv and six-year-old Laxmi, who are children of Jyoti's kin. Investigating officer ASI Narinderjit Singh said that the incident took place at the house of Chhindo, a resident of Maqboolpura area and the mother of Jyoti.
He added that Jyoti had come over to her mother's house with her children and the family was cooking when the cylinder exploded. "The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The matter is being investigated," he said.
