Flesh trade racket busted, couple among four arrested

The Ludhiana police claimed to have cracked a flesh trade racket run by a couple in a house in Sherpur with the arrest of four accused on Monday evening.

The Ludhiana police claimed to have cracked a flesh trade racket run by a couple in a house in Sherpur with the arrest of four accused on Monday evening.

A case under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Immoral Trafficking Act has been registered against the accused in this context at the Focal Point police station.

The accused have been identified as Shiv Kumar of 100 Futta Road, his wife Kiran Bala, Geeta and Mohammad Aftab of Moti Nagar.

SHO at the Focal Point police station Inspector Kawarjit Singh said the police have raided the house following a tip-off. He said the accused couple used to call women from different areas on customers' demand. The racket kingpin used to charge `1,000-2,000 from each customer.

The police have produced the accused before the court on Monday. The court has sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
