Followers of Rampal seek CBI probe into cases against him

Followers of controversial 'godman' Sant Rampal, who was arrested by the Haryana police in November last year, staged a protest here on Monday demanding an inquiry by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) into the cases registered against him.

Followers of controversial 'godman' Sant Rampal, who was arrested by the Haryana police in November last year, staged a protest here on Monday demanding an inquiry by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) into the cases registered against him.

The followers, who had come from different parts of the region, gathered at the Children's Park here and raised slogan demanding a CBI inquiry into the happenings before his arrest from his ashram in Barwala in Haryana and a case of murder against registered in 2006.

A follower Dharampal, who played the main role in organising the protest, said they would stage such protests in other parts of the state also in the coming days to seek a CBI probe into the cases against the 'godman'.
