Four booked for pouring liquidmosquito repellant in woman's mouth

The Division Number 1 police have booked four persons, including two women, for allegedly assaulting their relative and pouring liquid mosquito repellant into her mouth over a property dispute on Saturday.

The Division Number 1 police have booked four persons, including two women, for allegedly assaulting their relative and pouring liquid mosquito repellant into her mouth over a property dispute on Saturday.

The victim, Monika Gaba, 36, of Arya Mohalla, has been admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The accused have been identified as Sakshi Malik, her husband Arvind Malik, Leena Gaba and her husband Ashok Kumar of Pakhowal Road.

In her complaint to police, Monika said her family had a property dispute with their relatives.

She alleged that on February 9, when she was alone at home, her husband’s sister Sakshi Mailk, her husband Arvind Malik, brother-in-law Ashok Kumar and his wife Leena Gaba reached her house. An altercation ensued, following which they assaulted her and poured liquid mosquito repellent into her mouth, before fleeing the spot.

She called her husband, who rushed her to DMCH.

Inspector Dharampal, station house officer (SHO), Division Number 1 police station, said a case under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been registered against the accused and efforts were on to arrest them.
