A day after Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha Bhau, 35, a close aid of Vicky Gounder died in Amritsar medical college during treatment on Tuesday, his accomplice who is lodged in Kapurthala Modern Jail has paid tribute to him on Facebook on Wednesday.
Gangster Sukhi Bidhipur, 32, was arrested with Bhau by Jalandhar police in New Sant Nagar Jalandhar after a 30 minute shoot out on July 6, 2015.
Bidhipur has updated Sukha Bhau’s picture with caption “My dearest friend, will miss you forever. RIP Sukha Bhau.” The picture got over 1,200 likes within six hours of being updated.
Despite a ban on mobile phones and cameras inside the prison, Bidhipur’s frequent posts and comments on other posts indicates that he is active on the social media even from prison. Bidhipur was arrested on charges of attacking the then Kapurthala DSP) Vikramjeet Panthey. The incident has yet again raised question marks on the jail security system. On May 22 another inmate had uploaded a photo to show the inner buildings of the jail with the caption, “kar lo jail de darshan.”

{{/usCountry}}Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) (jail) Lalit Kohli refused the claims saying, “The state government has installed a tower near the jail premises that has jammed all singles to use social media sites in jail.”
The recovery of mobile phones from the prison is on the rise, 48 mobiles were recovered in 2013, 70 in 2014 and 75 in 2015.
While 82 mobiles along with SIM cards and chargers were recovered in 2016 and around 38 mobiles have been recovered so far.
Sources said that even 13 jammers have failed to fulfil the purpose as in some barracks signals are there and authorities need to install six more jammers.
