Girl booked on extortion charges in Punjab

A 21-year-old girl was booked for allegedly extorting Rs eight lakh from a Railway employee at Pathankot after blackmailing him, police said on Tuesday.
The girl, identified as Anita and hailing from Himachal Pradesh, befriended the railway employee working as Ticket Traveller(TT) some months ago, police said.
Later, she threatened the TT of filing false case of sexual harassment against him and said she will disclose their relationship to his wife.
The girl then extorted Rs 8 lakh from him and demanded for more.
A case under various sections of the IPC was registered against the girl on Tuesday and efforts are on to nab her, the added.
