The people in Punjab are blessed with sharp features and long hair - they do not have to be swayed by the global fashion scene and lose their assets. It must have been surprising for Vanera Nurakhenova and Farida Abylbekova to do hair extensions of the people in the city.
The two internationally acclaimed hair and makeup experts from VLCC Dubai are in the town to do the makeover of the people and train the VLCC staff.
VLCC area head operations, Punjab, Monika Kashyap says, "Punjabis are usually blessed with long hair and nice looks, so we are there to teach them how to look different every time. Yes, there was a time when the people preferred short hair but now again the trend for the long length hair is back."
"We invited these hair and makeup experts from VLCC Dubai, who have travelled globally and can add to the makeover of the people in Amritsar and train our staff ." she adds.
Vanera, when asked to compare the global fashion scene with that of India, says, "Comparisons are tough because culturally they are apart. I do not even have much exposure of India but all over the globe now-a-days women prefer long hair."
Talking about the hair style and colour of 2014, she said, "The colour of the year is ombre (The French-permed hair trend features darker, more natural hues at the roots with gradually-dyed lightening at the ends). And also the shades of brown, copper and red and cut--one side bald and other side long length hair."

She winds up advising, "The secret to look beautiful is - always have will to change. Changes are a must and regular treatment for hair and looks is also important. Here in Jammu and Amritsar, I have felt that people do not put effort to maintain their assets --hair. A little more effort will make you look good and confident."
