Giving a special New Year gift to the teachers of government aided schools in the city; UT administration has extended the retirement age to 60-year.
Earlier the present age of retirement for the teachers was 58 which have been extended now by two years. Issuing a notification on Wednesday, Administration claimed that the order would come into force from December 30.
It is pertinent to mention here that the retirement age of teachers at city government schools is already 60 years.
Ranbir Singh Rana, secretary Joint Action Committee, UT Chandigarh Teachers Association welcomed the move of the administration.
“It is a major step by the authorities as the teachers at the government aided schools deserve the same facilities which the teachers enjoy in government schools. They also take equal pain and shape up careers of students ,”stated Ranbir.
