Govt asks chief secy to review recommendations for technical director's post in PSTCL

With the chief minister office returning the file to review the recommendations, the lobbying for the post of director (technical) in Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) has been intensified once again.

With the chief minister office returning the file to review the recommendations, the lobbying for the post of director (technical) in Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) has been intensified once again.

The post is considered important as director (technical) takes most of the decision of the PSTCL.

The appointment has been delayed after Punjab government asked the selection committee to review its recommendations for the post of director (technical).

The three-member committee comprising of chief secretary, secretary (power) and chairman rural electrification corporation recommended two names for the post of director (technical) to Punjab government for final decision.

The committee recommended the names of RK Sharma, engineer-in-chief and Shahi Prabha Kansal, chief engineer, out of four short-listed candidates.
The other two are retired engineer-in-chiefs Virender Gupta and Chander Sheakher Maan

It may be mentioned that Virender Gupta is retired engineer-in-chief from PSTCL and was the member of committee formed at the time of unbundling of PSEB and has got maximum experience of transmission work.

RK Sharma, engineer-in-chief, has reportedly got the backing of BJP leader. CS Maan has got the adequate experience in transmission and protection.
Shashi Prabha Kansal is number 24 in seniority list of PSPCL and junior most amongst all the applicants..
