Govt committed to promote ‘make in Punjab’ policy: Minister

Punjab industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal here on Sunday announced that Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party (SAD-BJP) led state government was committed for promoting ‘make in Punjab’ policy. He said the policy was being framed to promote local industry, which has been contributing for the growth of Punjab for the last many decades.

Punjab industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal here on Sunday announced that Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party (SAD-BJP) led state government was committed for promoting ‘make in Punjab’ policy. He said the policy was being framed to promote local industry, which has been contributing for the growth of Punjab for the last many decades.

Mittal was speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating a blood bank at Shree Raghunath Hospital here. He said the Punjab government was making all efforts to promote and benefit local industry by coming out with ‘make in Punjab’ policy, which would be announced and finalised soon.

He said a high powered meeting related to issues concerning trade and industry would be held on December 8 and would be chaired by deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. In this particular meeting, all issues related to CLU for industry, besides several others, will be discussed in detail.

“I assure the industrialists and traders that all their problems will be sorted at the earliest,” he said. Mittal also announced a grant of `2 lakh out of his discretionary funds for the hospital management committee.
