The code clearly says that all hoardings, advertisements etc on display depicting achievements of governments, welfare schemes or project works of the party in power should be removed after the implementation of the code.

In violation of the code, large-sized photos of the chief minister and the deputy chief minister still greet the people at the RO located in a economically backward locality.

Besides photos of the CM and Deputy CM, the banners also carry photos of the wife of the deputy chief minister, Faridkot MP and local youth leader Parmbans Singh Romana, who had been chairman of the improvement trust of Faridkot.

Besides, their photos are also still uncovered on the reverse osmosis plant in village Navan Nathewala, about 10 km from here.Besides, the district administration is yet to remove posters about the launch of the new atta-dal scheme on the first floor of the mini-Secretariat building.

Faridkot DC said, “I have have issued instructions to ensure that there is no violation of the poll code. Actually, we have already covered many such posters and photos, but there may be some left unnoticed. We have also got photos of the CM on ambulances covered. I am sending team to sites to check violations.”
