The six other suspects had on Sunday been remanded in police custody by a local court for three days.

A 29-year-old married woman had been allegedly gangraped near here on Friday night. She had boarded a private mini bus at her parental village, Jagatpur, in Pathankot district earlier that day. Her destination was her in-laws' village, Ghukla, near Kahnuwan. However, bus driver Daler Singh and conductor Ravi had taken her to a house near here, where five of their friends had joined them.

As per the woman's statement, she was raped by all seven of them. Daler Singh had dropped her near Ghukla village on Saturday morning. Later, she had reached Kahnuwan police station to lodge a complaint.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajjit Singh said the police had arrested six suspects within hours of registering the case, but it had taken them a couple of days to nab the seventh one.
