Hans Raj Hans honoured at Jashn-e-Sahir

The only regular feature in city that keeps the memories of renowned poet Sahir Ludhianvi alive, the international mushaira Jashn-e-Sahir took place at Nehru Siddhant Kendra on Saturday evening.

The only regular feature in city that keeps the memories of renowned poet Sahir Ludhianvi alive, the international mushaira Jashn-e-Sahir took place at Nehru Siddhant Kendra on Saturday evening.

This was the 51st edition of the event that is jointly organised by Adeeb International and the Kendra.

As many as 13 well-known national poets performed at this celebration of Sahir's poetry that saw a jam-packed audience at the venue. The event that commenced around 8pm saw the audience enjoying the poetic recitations well past midnight.

Those who graced the occasion included noted poets: Dr Rahat Indori, Shakeel Azmi, Aslam Chishti, Haseeb Soz, Atul Ajnabi, Suhail Lakhnavi, Fiaz Farooqui, Sagar Syalkoti, Naseem Nikhat, Basim Rasheed, Saba Balrampuri, Shaista Sana and Hina Tamoori.

Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans was honoured with Sahir Ludhianvi award at the event.
