“We had received an input about the presence of spurious sweets in a tourist bus. The sweets were to be taken to villages,” said district health officer Dr Shiv Karan Singh Kahlon, district health officer, Amritsar.

“We have confiscated the sweets. We will wait for someone claiming the sweets, otherwise the sweets will be destroyed,” he said. The team also collected about 20 samples of different food products from different parts of the city for purity test. Health officials said their focus is on milk products as the adulteration is maximum in them.
