At around 3 pm, shopkeepers in the Choggittee area saw the briefcase and informed the police. A PCR van first inspected the spot and then a large number of police personnel cordoned off the area.

The bomb disposal squad was called in and finally the briefcase was found to contain some documents and a personal diary. The brief belongs to one Rampal.

“Rampal was contacted. He has claimed that he said that forgot the briefcase opposite a dry-cleaning shop in Choggittee,” Rama Mandi police station SHO Bimal Kant told HT.
