In his complaint Gurdeep Singh alleged that Ninder Kaur, collected an advance of Rs 10.5 lakh for her house on December 10, 2010.

"The deal of her house was struck at Rs 14 lakh and May 10, 2011 was fixed for registration of the sale deed. She did not come for the registry. Later, she started coming up with excuses.

When I pressed more, she threatened me and refused to sign the registry and also failed to return the advance.

After investigation, it came to light that she had entered into an agreement for the sale of the same house on November 6, 2009, and collected an advance of Rs 5.10 lakh from Mohinder Singh, a resident of Mugal Chak village, he added.

After investigations, the police booked the accused under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 406 (criminal breach of trust).
