Examinees in Himachal Pradesh University were again in for a surprise when blunders marred the post-graduation examination in Hindi.
On Saturday, students appearing for the examination of Masters of Hindi for the first semester's second paper across the state got a rude shock when they got question papers of the second semester's sixth course. The students, who were appearing for the first semester, were provided with the papers of the sixth course of the second semester.
After realising the blunder, the university administration cancelled the examination statewide and rescheduled it to December 12.
However, the university authorities shifted the onus on the printer of the papers.
SS Chauhan, officiating controller of examinations, said this was a major mistake on the part of the printer. “We have investigated and found that the printer have tampered the sample given for printing,” he said.
He said strict action would be taken against the guilty and would ensure smooth functioning ahead.
Earlier on November 26, third semester students of Masters of Mass Communication (MMC) found four questions missing in the question paper of mass media research applications.
Student Central Association's (SCA) general secretary Piyush Sewal said the university administration had failed to conduct the examination, resulting in inconvenience to thousands of students across the state.
“We have submitted a memorandum to the V-C regarding these mistakes and problems being faced by the students,” he said.
