Huge haul of country liquor seized; two arrested in Faridkot

The police claim to have recovered 549 boxes of country liquor from a Canter at a 'naka' near Basti Nanaksar, 3 km from Faridkot town, on Ferozepur road and arrested two people in this connection.

The police claim to have recovered 549 boxes of country liquor from a Canter at a 'naka' near Basti Nanaksar, 3 km from Faridkot town, on Ferozepur road and arrested two people in this connection.

"A 'naka' was laid for checking vehicles and when the police stopped a Canter, 549 boxes of country liquor were recovered from it. There was cutting and overwriting on the bills, which were produced to the police," said a police source.

A case has been registered against Kashmir Singh, son of Piara Singh, a resident of Ferozepur, and Nand Kishor, son of Ramparsad. The police have arrested the duo, said Jaswinderpal Sharma, DSP (city), Faridkot. The 549 boxes come around 6,588 bottles of liquor.
