While the revelations in the recent drug racket case have been shocking, its kingpin Jagdish Bhola has no remorse.
"I don't have any remorse as nothing has been recovered from me. The Punjab police have concocted different stories. When I have not done anything wrong, why should I have remorse?" Bhola told the media after the hearing at a local court here on Monday.
Interestingly, senior police officers involved in his arrest, including Patiala SSP Hardial Singh Mann, have repeatedly been claiming that they nabbed him after much effort, but in a new twist to the case, Bhola openly denied his arrest by a special team.
"I am innocent and have been demanding a CBI probe in all cases. Police did not arrest me. I was called on the pretext of signing a few papers to hand over the case to the CBI. But when I reached there, they 'arrested' me from Haryana and took credit for the arrest, which was not the case," claimed Bhola.
After the expiry of his police remand, Bhola was presented in the court of judicial magistrate first class on Monday amid tight security.

Bhola was last presented in a local court on November 28 after the Fatehgarh Sahib police got his production warrant. A case was registered against Bhola by the Fatehgarh Sahib police in March but he has been on the run since his Mohali residence was raided. Bhola was declared a proclaimed offender in the case. He was recently arrested by Patiala police. In this case, the court remanded him in judicial custody till December 16.
The Punjab police on Monday also filed another application in the same court and demanded Bhola's remand in another case registered against him in Fatehgarh Sahib district. In this case, the court remanded him in police custody till December 6.
