The accused, Gora Singh, was charged for murdering his daughters Lovepreet (4) and Preet (2).

According to the police, Gora had married Kali around six years ago. However, Gora had developed an illicit relationship with Rani, sister of his wife, and they both wanted to get married.

On Monday morning, Gora took both his daughters out on the pretext of getting their aadhar cards made. Thereafter, he took them to his farms where he killed the girls by strangulating them. After few hours when he returned home, he said to his wife that the kids had eaten something outside, due of which both of them had fallen sick.

Dharamgarh station house officer (SHO) Gurmeet Singh said Gora’s wife, however, could easily make that her daughters had not fallen ill, but were killed due to strangulation.

Meanwhile, on the statement of a villager, a case has been registered against Gora Singh under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. However, the accused was still at large.

The police said once they nab the accused, they might include more persons in the FIR after interrogating him.
