Industrialists pitch for reduced energy, manufacturing costs

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a workshop on Tuesday, the theme of which was ‘Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness for Textile Industry’ in which several traders took part. The workshop was organised jointly by National Productivity Council (NPC).

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a workshop on Tuesday, the theme of which was ‘Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness for Textile Industry’ in which several traders took part. The workshop was organised jointly by National Productivity Council (NPC).


A demand of reduction in manufacturing and energy costs by 50% has been raised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
PHD Chamber, Ludhiana unit, chairman Gurmeet Singh Kular said textile industry is the backbone of Ludhiana’s economy and strengthening the same is the key to economic prosperity in the region.

He said that there was an immediate need to reduce manufacturing and energy cost by 50% to give a boost to the industry.

NPC deputy director SP Singh and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Ludhiana, director Kamal Singh discussed in details the guidelines regarding schemes for cluster development for the industry.

Taaran Industries managing director SB Singh said that the industry can make rapid improvements in the units through implementations of different schemes.
